I have been on and off electric shavers over the years (almost exclusively Norelco). For about the last 5 years, I've been shaving with the Gillette Fusion razor (or variants thereof). While happy, I was tired of spending 20 bucks on a pack of blades. I wanted a wet/dry electric shaver and was looking at the Braun and Panasonic. I just couldn't see spending the $200 plus for the Braun so, after reading several reviews here, decided on the Panasonic. I have NOT been disappointed!! I'm sure the Braun is a fine razor but all I can say about the Panasonic is...WOW! It shaves every bit as close as a blade...maybe even more so...and it doesn't irritate my skin. I don't ever remember my Norelco razors giving me this close of a shave. As for the cleaner, I read a review on here that said it was difficult to use...HUH? It is VERY easy. Just fill the container with water and shove a detergent cartridge in. DONE! The ONLY downside I can think of is the razor doesn't seem to hold a charge for very long, so don't travel any more than a couple of days without the charge cord (the same cord that powers the cleaning/recharging base will also charge the razor itself...so you don't need to travel with the somewhat bulky base if you don't want to).
