Panasonic ES8109S Vortex with Nano Technology and HydraClean Shaving System, SilverTo set the stage I got the ES8109S about a month ago and I have a light to medium beard. I have been using electric razors for about 25 years and for many of those years preferred the Norelco triple head razor line as it did not pinch like the foil shaver of those days did. The last three razors I have owned have all been Panasonic. The first was the ES8066 and if I used shaving cream it would shave so close I would get nicked but the save was actually closer than a blade (hard to believe I know but true). When used dry it was as good as a blade. When that one died I purchased an ES8095. I used that one for about three years and I am sorry to say that it fell far short of the performance of my first Panasonic. From day one it just did not give as close a shave. Because of that experience I was prepared to give Braun a try this time but when I went over all the electric razor reviews I could find the Panasonic once again sounded the best. I figured I would give Panasonic one last shot and I am happy to say I was not disappointed. This razor is better in every way than it's predecessor. It gives a close, smooth and comfortable shave. It is quiet, well balanced and easy to hold. This is my first razor with a cleaning station and I am amazed every time I use it at how clean the razor is when it finishes it's cycle.
