Bought this to replace a middle-of-the-road, one-year-old Braun 4775. The shave quality on this Panasonic is WAY better than the Braun. Compared to a brand new, out of the box blade, the blade will shave closer. But compared to a blade that is a couple of days old, this is at least equal, and compared to a four day old blade, the Panasonic is superior. I do get a few nicks from this each day, but none are enough to need to do anything to staunch the bleeding or otherwise address the issue (which is more than I can say for a 3 day old blade). I use it wet with shaving cream, but not in the shower, since I have no place to put it in the shower when I'm not shaving. Not a perfect shave, but over time, will be far more economical than buying two expensive blades a week.
