I have owned all brands of shavers/razors, and I have to say Braun is NOT worth the money. Not only do they not shave very well, they fall apart within a years time. Even a new blade doesn't help. For the price you pay for those I would have expected more. Now the Panasonic is a razor I can recommend. While they also wear out quicker then I hoped, they do last longer then a year and cost half as much as other brands. But what is more important then stability...does it work? Absolutely! This is my second Panasonic, and I am never going back to another brand. They are affordable and work better then the more expensive brands. The cleaning units us a dry detergent pack with normal tap water. Other brands like Braun use a liquid detergent pack, which is easy to spill, and takes up WAY to much room in a closet or drawer. Not to mention they are harsh and can actually burn your skin or remove the coating on your sink. Why would you put that on your face? Panasonic's cleaning detergent is small, simple, and safe. Some customers complain of the cleaning unit being very load. This model is much quiter then other Panasonic models and way cleaner then Braun or other brands. If you close the bathroom door you won't even hear it. Get this Panasonic and enjoy what shaving is suppose to be like!
