I have been using an elecric razor since I was sixteen and I'm well itno my fourty's now. My father was a big Remington fan so I used that brand of shaver for many years. Then we got him a Norelco (Rotary) for Christmas one year and he loved it, so I switched to Norelco too. I had problems with both shavers in terms of skin irriatation but they did the job on my sensitve skin. Well, my last Norelco started losing power so I thought I would upgrade. I always wanted one of those fancy Braun's with the automatic cleaning/lubrication system but they are well over $200 -I did not want to upgrade that bad! In searchng Amazon for an alternative, I saw the Panasonic. The Panasonic products I've owned in the past have worked well, so I was open to the idea of a Panasonic shaver.
Ordered and received the shaver in a very timely manner from Amazon.com and plugged it in for a charge. Gave it a try the next morning and I was immediately impressed. I like the weighty and substantial feel this razor has in my hand. It's also a good looking tool (always important). After a few days of using this razor my face was smooth and free of nicks or bumps. WOW! this thing really works! My face experienced zero irritation as a result of switching to this new razor. The micro fiol from Remington and the rotaries always chewed up my face until I got used used to them (translation: until I wore down the razores a a bit). but I had no irritation at all with the Panasonic.
The cleaner is a bit bulky and noisey and there's really nothing slick about it; in fact its kind of ugly, but it works well! I set it to clean/charge/dry my razor and it came out sparkling new and shiny clean. Replacement blades, screens, and cleaning cartridges are fairly reasonable in price, so that is good. I also shaved using shaving foam but the results were not so good when I did. The foam gobed up the razor so it did not cut as closely as it could have. In fact, I was lsft with some pretty nasty stubble. I then began using Lab Series pre shave and once again I was extrememly impressed. I know that's another review but the point I am making is that you should get the best pre electric shave lotion (not foam) you can (avoid the drug store stuff if possible). Lab Series is great and has very low odor. It's about [...] a pop but it lasts a long time and works better than any other pre electric shave lotion I've tried.
